A fun sensory experience for children
Growing up in Dubai, I hardly had a chance to see butterflies in the scorching heat of Dubai. However every year going back home to India gave us a respite from the heat while allowing us to experience the touch and feel of the butterflies. I used to chase the butterflies that visited our gardens, trying to catch them and play with them.
Now that my kids are growing up in Dubai, they've hardly seen a live butterfly. But Dubai being Dubai, they introduced the perfect spot for kids to experience butterflies at large. Butterfly garden is located in Motor City and is the perfect escape for children looking to embark on an educational journey about butterflies and their lifecycle.
Our butterfly garden journey began with a simple question: "Mommy, how do caterpillars turn into butterflies?" The garden was split into different sections based on the species located within each section of the park. We could see what the butterflies were eating, how they were living amongst all the bushes and the plants.
Meditate in Peace
As you walk towards the center of the park, there are separate areas to walk and explore as the butterflies flew all around you. Here you could study the lifecycle of butterflies with different representations of butterflies at each stage.
There were designated places to sit and meditate while butterflies would come and sit on you. However, you wouldn't be able to meditate for the sheer number of shrieking kids ho were excited by the presence of a butterfly sitting on their head.
Activities for Children
There are activity sections within the park that allows kids to participate in painting and craft activities. These come at an additional cost but nonetheless kids enjoy and extremely fun session that involves lots and lots of creativity. From face painting sessions to painting wooden butterflies, these sessions were absolute fun for kids who enjoyed painting activities.
