Being obese is not to be blamed on one's genes anymore. I promise you that it is because of your sedentary lifestyle and the food habits that we have inculcated from time immemorial. I am not writing about this because Mikhail and Michelle are obese but because I don't want them to become obese on the long run. I want to help you to not make your children obese. Having two comparatively tinier toddlers, is a concern to the onlookers. They keep wondering why my kids are so small and am I even feeding them properly. So their first suggestion is to give pediasure or horlics or complain. Common man around is believe that these artificially made products are so good for out children.
They believe that the required nutrients would be obtained as soon as we give out children these adultered powders. So let's get this straight, all you have to do is things with your common sense and all the answers would seem logical to you mother's. And Incase it doesn't seem so then I say it's better for such people to go back to where they came from. These powders are processed ND packaged and so it can be used for atleast 12months from manufacturing. So if you have to store something for so long, don't we have to add a generous amount of preservatives? Common sense says that yes a huge amount must be involved in it. These powders contain calicum or so they say. Milk and milk products like panner and curd contains calcium. So if a child is having all these things then would he need an external source of calcium. Common sense says no there is no need for that. Sometimes such foods tend to encourage rapid growth in babies. In the long run, this could be a reason as to why the girls in India are hitting puberty much earlier than anticipated! Common sense says yes the excess of artificial products could be a reason for why puberty is coming soon to our daughters. Even after knowing all these details, I wonder why some of us force our kids to have these foods even though they don't like it. Once I heard the nutritionist Ruchika say that if children don't have milk as it is then don't give them. They will obtain their calcium from other sources.
